Primer is probably the most underrated science fiction ever made. Time travel cannot get any more realistic than this. Half of the people hated this movie because it was hard to understand and the rest half loved this movie for the very same reason and gainded a cult following.
Primer is the story of two engineers AARON (Shane Carruth) and ABE (David Sullivan), who in the process of making a device that blocks gravity end up with a machine that stop objects inside the box to travel forward in time(as a side effect).
Primer was shot on a budget of just $7000 (approximately Rs.3 Lakhs) and with no professional actors except David Sullivan. The story, screenplay, dialogues, edting, music, direction was done by Shane Carruth and he even cast himself as Aaron in the movie. I still suspect he used one of those failsafe machines to create a double. 
I am completly obessed with the movie right now, and I’ve read almost evry article I could find on Primer and Shane Carruth. Nothing much is known about Shane Carruth except that his next movie movie is ‘A Topiary’ and it right now in pre-production. He is also working in the movie ‘LOOPER’ and is doing the effects.
